National Honors Society Continues Triannual Blood Drive

National Honors Society is once again coordinating a blood drive for NHS students on Feb. 8, spanning the full school day.

To be eligible to donate, students must be at least 16 yeard old. If a student is 16, they will need to have a parent permission form signed before donating blood, the form is available outside the Armstrong Office. All donors will need to bring a photo ID to check-in.

Other requirements to donate blood are meeting the height and weight requirements, undergoing a brief health screening before donating, and being in generally good health.  The height-weight requirements are as follows:

Students may signup to donate using SignUpGenius, allowing them to pick their preferred timeslot. After donating, students can recover by eating snacks and refreshments generously provided by local businesses.  In past years, Subway, Domino’s, and Culver’s gave back to students willing to help their community by donating blood.
