NHS French students experienced Quebecois culture in Canada.

NHS French students traveled to Montreal and Quebec, CA, in June.

Students conversed with native speakers while ordering food and shopping. “I wanted to go the Quebec province because it allowed me to experience French-speaking life without going overseas,” Krista Marsicek, senior, said.

Various events subjected them to the culture, such as when they visited a cabane à sucre, otherwise known as a sugar shack, for folk music, dancing and maple syrup. They also treked up over 480 stairs to reach the top of Montmorency Falls, where they were greeted by a breathtaking view. However, Marsicek’s favorite moments were spent “exploring on [our] own and immersing in the customs”. Throughout the trip, students were followed by a professional team of photographers and cinematographers.
