For senior Landon Nytes, life moves at a pace at which few can compare.

From working, cross country, and school, he feels like he’s in a constant spin.

In contrast, his days are quick, but his nights crawl. Working as a cashier at Kohls, he works two days a week on top of sports and school.

He knows the value of going to college, which is why he works hard to save up for it.

“I’m saving up money and doing the best I can right now.”

Landon secures a job to learn skills on how to deal with people.

Dealing with people, Landon hopes to go into marketing, which involves working with people.

“You can’t let the negative people weigh you down. You just have to keep positive.”

Landon appreciates that Kohls uses marketing techniques, which allows him to get some experience in the field that he is passionate about.

Marketing involves getting along with people you might not necessarily get along with, which is something that happens in any career.

With work and cross country taking up a large majority of time, he adds that school can sometimes be a challenge; therefore he works to get homework done the day it’s assigned.

Landon said his mom pushes him to do his best in his school work.

“When I’m tired, and wore out, my mom is there to push me.”

His determination shines through like a bright, full moon.

“You just need to keep working hard and pushing through it, and the shift will eventually end.”

Even though he is ready to come home, he knows that these experiences will help him in the future. These experiences make Landon the person that he is today. A hard-working, passionate and motivated individual.
