Junior Kiersten Kraus follows sister’s footsteps to go division 1 volleyball. At only 16 years old, the varsity setter from NHS gets a full ride to Kent State University in Ohio.

It doesn’t look as easy as it sounds. Being a D1 commit comes with pressure and responsibility. She feels as she can’t mess up this opportunity, and she wants to do the best she can.

“It’s nice to know what classes to take and what I need to get on the ACT.”

Kiersten plays for the Rockets.  Unfortunately, the team is not doing as well as it wants, but she models leadership throughout the season.

In spite of volleyball being a role in her life, it’s not her whole life. The setter from Neenah wishes to earn a Master’s degree in nursing and become a nurse practitioner (NP).

“I had an accident as a child, which lead me to always be in the ER.”

She wishes to help people and take care of patients the way she is cared for as a child. She enjoys helping people and wants to give back to people in need of medical help.

“ I decided to pursue my career at Kent, considering it’s eight hours away from home.”

Lacking experience living out of state, she is excited to experience life out of Wisconsin. From a city that only has a population of 26,501 residents, Kirsten is grateful to have an amazing opportunity to seek a stunning education and sports career.

Kiersten is ready to create her own footprint.
