This year Neenah has another addition to the foreign language program. Ms. Rong Hill, the newest Mandarin Chinese teacher loves to share her knowledge and memories of China with her students. Because of her having such a busy daily schedule, she only gets to teach here for one class period a day.

Ms. Hill comes from a small town in China, where she grew up without the aid of electronics. Ms. Hill says the parenting is much different in China than what she sees here in the United States. Given little freedom as a child, she is taught strictly right from wrong. She says her teaching style is the opposite of how parenting in China is; now able to learn from her own mistakes, she allows her students to learn the same way.

In her teenage years, she teaches the English language in China. She triumphs over the diversity in the education system and many stereotypes along the way to get where she is today. She pushes passed these obstacles and more because of her hard work ethic and outgoing adventurous nature.

Ms. Hill is committed to her work and cares deeply about teaching. She expresses that she faces a learning curve in her short time here and continues to wonder and understand slang words as well as learn the history of the country.

Students are lucky to have her here.  Learning from someone who can fluently teach and speak both languages is a real asset to the Neenah community.
