Salutes and Slams: Week of March 8
March 10, 2021
Salutes:
- Juniors’ efforts during ACT testing week unhindered by smooth schedule changes.
- Warmer spring temperatures draw people outside for physical activity and fresh air.
- Virtual parent-teacher conferences provide a convenient, quick way to connect educators and families.
Slams:
- AP students struggle to follow changing information about exam format and calendar.
- Many swim and volleyball team members quarantined after issues with following Covid guidelines.
- Lack of communication regarding Friday’s early release schedule leaves virtual students with questions.

I completely agree with the first ‘slam’ for this week. I feel that the AP format/dates are constantly changing and it is very difficult for me to keep up. In addition, I also think it is important to note how students, especially ones enrolled in advanced classes, are struggling to keep up with the workload caused by the new schedule.

Schedule communication is a big slam! It’s changed so many times that I feel like I never know what it is.
