“I have the amazing privilege of being a team captain this year and to try to help the swim team feel more unified. Last year, the JV and varsity teams were never together because of COVID-19, but this year we are combined, which is really nice.  . . . The other team captains and I have been trying to have more team bonding activities, so both teams are able to be together. Whenever both teams are practicing at the same time, the varsity has a chance to share its wisdom with the JV team. It allows the upperclassmen and lowerclassmen to really connect.  . . .  I’ve grown so much leadership-wise over the past few years. When I was a freshman, I was extremely shy; I did my own thing and stayed in my own lane. Now, I have really been able to lead conversations in the group and talk to people even if I don’t know them very well.” – Olly Dungan, class of 2022
