“I guess for a while in middle school I was involved in the Forensics team. When I started I wasn’t very good. I had a lot of unease. I’ve never been a very good speaker. I only joined because I had a friend in it. It was never something I thought I’d be good at. When I started, I wasn’t. I really sucked. I didn’t know what I signed up for. I didn’t perform very well. I almost quit. I kept going and by the end of middle school, I had taken a gold medal in pros, which was really big for me. It was like that physical representation of progress and that was a really cool experience.” — Evan Olson, class of 2024
