Humans of NHS – James Verbrick

Every day’s a little adventure, but looking back and reflecting on it, nothing extraordinary has ever happened to me- I’m completely average. There’s nothing special about me. I know that I say I work 40 hours a week and I’m 18 years old, but I mean sh*t, there’s plenty of people that do that. And I mean, I’m no more special than you, or Liam, or anyone. I feel that in this generation and our society today, they have to feel important. But the fact is, none of us are important because it doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, the world is going to turn. And I think that people use outlets like Facebook and Twitter and all these other social medias to self actualize, and it bothers me…  because you should get your confidence from who you are and what you do and what you love, not who you pretend to be in front of a computer screen.” – James Verbrick, senior
