“[Singing] is the only thing I’ve done in my life that makes sense.”

Having a voice with the ability to drop jaws and breaks hearts, bringing awe and tears to the eyes of the onlooker doesn’t come easy for most people; however, most people aren’t Kassidy Schmidt.

As a toddler, Kassidy conjured up big dreams in a small body, resembling the thought process of most children with the world before them. She set up stage in her own living room, performing for the only people she knew she could with confidence — her family.

With a smile on her face, she expresses her passion with a simple remark: “[Singing] is the only thing I’ve done in my life that makes sense.”

Now a senior in high school, Kassidy continues to expand her vocal abilities everyday.

With the help of her family, she can be found inside coffee shops or on stage with her peers. No matter the setting, she is able to perform perfectly polished melodies.

From innocent moments in the living room to belting notes on the big stage, the people in her life have been there to support her talent every step of the way.

Her success in high school stems from observing her elders. By examining the actions of the peers above her, Kassidy learns from their mistakes and matches their methods.

While the senior class of 2018 begins to conduct their path toward the future, Kassidy’s unique future will consist of trial and error auditions in Los Angeles. Fearless and capable, she fully understands the struggles she will face in L.A., but she’s hoping to learn from the constructive criticism given to her.

Once thought to simply be the big dreams of an aspired little girl, she will soon be the small town girl living in the big city.
