In a one-on-one event, Neenah Wrestling defeated Oshkosh West Wildcats in a landslide 56-22 victory.

Senior Eric Schaufelberger said: “We had a bunch of great matches.  We probably won 10 out of the 14, with 6 of them being pins.”

Schaufelberger congratulates his teammates on their work ethic.

“They just never stopped competing.  We also have some guys who didn’t win their match but didn’t give up the pin and kept us in the lead.”

The Wrestling Varsity team calendar indicates that this is the last regular one-on-one dual event occurring in the Ron Einerson Fieldhouse — the next time they will use the facility to wrestle will be for their conference tournament on Feb. 4 of next calendar year.

Next Thursday, the Wrestling team has a duel at Appleton North, Junior Varsity begins at 6:15 p.m. and Varsity at 7 p.m..  Senior Preston Hella invites the student body to attend.

“Today we only had like, 10 kids, so it would be nice to see more people around.  It really helps get us going when we’re wrestling, so that’d be good,” Hella said.
