Future Neenah hosted the annual A Very Neenah Christmas in downtown Neenah from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1.
“This event is so loved by our community because you feel like you entered into a Hallmark movie, and it gets you in the Christmas spirit,” Future Neenah event coordinator, Meredith Rathe said.
All the activities for this event are for family fun and they posted a list of activities on Future Neenah.
A Very Neenah Christmas gets the community to go downtown and see live mannequins, showcasing a scene from a movie or a show inside the shop windows. A Christmas tree shined brightly by the Plexus building and the Plaza had ice skating with fires off on the sides.
Also, this event helps to give the small businesses exposure and gave the people the opportunity to shop and dine as well as see the different programs Future Neenah had perform.
Furthermore, the planning starts at the beginning of the year with Future Neenah getting an event permit to host A Very Neenah Christmas. The setup is not a piece of cake, it takes about 5 hours on the day of the event, but some businesses plan their windows months ahead of time. Some stores even have programs from schools ask to do the live mannequin windows.
“Before St. Mary’s had come in and asked to partner with us, we were throwing ideas out back in April or May,” owner of Renewed and Reclaimed store and teacher Mrs. Jodi Zehner said.
They hoped a Very Neenah Christmas would bring joy and the guests could enjoy every moment this wish of the season would bring.
