Winter Season Starts for Gateway Park Offering Ice Skating and Coffee

The Gateway Park in downtown Neenah officially opened for its third year on Nov. 18, kicking off another season of winter activity for residents.

The Gateway Park is home to the Plaza Ice Rink and Globe Coffee, which both started their winter season on Nov. 18. For the Plaza, this means the ice rink is open every day of the week on a specified schedule. And for the Globe Coffee, this means hot chocolate and pretzels are in high demand.

The Plaza offers an opportunity to be active during the winter months when the weather is less than favorable. But Globe Coffee also allows for a calm and relaxing study environment. One patron described the gateway park as a good mix of liveliness and calmness. The Globe Coffee and Ice Rink work on slightly different schedules, but any time the Ice Rink is open, Globe Coffee will be as well.

If you’re planning on visiting Gateway Park, there are a few things to remember.

  • The Plaza operates entirely cashless, so have a credit/debit card or gift card ready.
  • A waiver of liability must be completed before
  • purchasing a pass, the link to said waiver can be found here.
  • Cubbies can be found both inside and outside for storage of shoes or other clothing items.
  • Patrons may enter the Plaza at any time during its operating hours, but they need to pay a fee to ice skate and rent skates if needed, the costs for which are as follows. Adult(18+): $8  |  Kids: $5  |  Rentals: $5.

The Gateway Park offers a unique and relaxing experience to the residents of Neenah and the Fox Valley as a whole. If patrons have a day or a whole weekend free, Gateway Park is a perfect place to spend it.
