Fox Valley Sinfonia: Stingle conducts

By:  Technology Editor Emma Fuhrman

NHS Orchestra Director Kristi Stingle shared the stage with Steve March-Torme (Mel Torme's son) at the Fox Valley Sinfonia event.

NHS Orchestra Director Kristi Stingle enjoyed the honor of conducting a new group called the Fox Valley Sinfonia during spring break.

The group was comprised of professionals in the area that started playing a new instrument just a few months ago.  According to Stingle the goal was not perfection, rather, it was to raise funds for the Fox Valley Symphony and Youth Symphony program. Steve March-Torme (Mel Torme’s son) was the emcee for the event.

Violin player, Adelle Sturgell (junior) played her first time at Sinfonia and said, “It was successful.” A few sets she and many others played include: “Hallelujah Chorus,” “Ode to Joy,” “Fanfare Rondeau,” and the “Mahler Symphony No. 1.”

Several performers from the area were featured – check out their resumes at https://www.foxvalleysinfonia.org/ .
As the N.J.S.D Music Department Chair, Stingle confirmed that Fox Valley Sinfonia plans to host the event again next year.
