An English Student’s Plea
Where is the life
Where is the color
Where is the character
How can I write
How can I think
How can I make
Here in this dull room
Here in this dull space
Here in this dull scape
Write words of adventure
Write words of conviction
Write words of value
There is no adventure
There is no conviction
There is no value
Here in this dull room
Here in this dull space
Here in this dull scape
Where is the life
Where is the color
Where is the character
Why it’s in the trees
Why it’s in the streets
Why it’s anywhere but here
Here in this dull room
Here in this dull space
Here in this dull scape
I long for the adventure
I long for the conviction
I long for value

This is one amazing poem! The poem brings the struggle of the Neenah High School Student to creatively thrive in a constrained and dull environment. The repetition of the the problems with the english program conveys to the audience how major these problems are.
