Bennett Reigns as Head Volleyball Coach

Ms. Emily Bennett is a teacher in the science department and the new head coach for varsity girls’ volleyball.

Bennett traced her roots all the way back to NHS; she graduated in the class of 2006. While she attended, she played volleyball and completed at state with one of her role models, Mr. Bruce Moriarty as her coach. She studied premed until junior year at Hillsdale College in Michigan and then decided to student teach with Mrs. Molly Brown (another science teacher here at NHS and another major role model). Bennett played volleyball four years in college at Hillsdale, a division two school.

Bennett started out coaching as a private instructor near Neenah and after college, she coaches JV girls’ volleyball for six years and helped coach on varsity the whole time. In the offseason, she coached girls’ club volleyball for Academy.

“I have no social life, but I wouldn’t change it for anything.”

Bennett misses her students and players every day — cannot wait to see them again. Bennett is always learning from her players and other coaches.

She focuses on mental training as well as physical training. “I’m always trying to help them succeed in the best way possible.”

Apart from volleyball, her other passion is Broadway and musical theatre; Bennett is a manager at the Performing Arts Center.
